XT-MERO- 125 MG INJECTION contains Meropenem which belongs to the group of medicines known as Antibiotics. It is used to treat a number of bacterial infections, including topical skin and skin structure infections, intra-abdominal infections, urinary tract infections (UTI), pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), skin wound infections, meningitis and septicaemia (septic blood poisoning). It is also indicated for purposive therapy, for presumed infection in adult patients who are neutropenic, as a single agent or in conjunction to anti-viral or anti-fungal therapy. XT-MERO- 125 MG INJECTION is also indicated for the treatment of neutropenic patients with fever suggestive of bacterial infection and pyrexia (fever) due to a bacterial infection.

During the management, your doctor may do blood tests from time to time. XT-MERO- 125 MG INJECTION should be used with caution in liver, renal disorder and diarrhea patients. Patients with gastrointestinal disorders and hypersensitivity reactions are not recommended to take XT-MERO- 125 MG INJECTION. Consult your doctor before receiving if you are pregnant or breastfeeding women.

XT-MERO- 125 MG INJECTION is likely to be hazardous in children over 3 months and in geriatric patients. Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, skin rash, itchy skin, pain, inflammation are the common side effects of XT-MERO- 125 MG INJECTION. XT-MERO- 125 MG INJECTION is a broad-spectrum carbapenem antibiotic which is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Mechanism of action: it penetrates bacterial cells easily where it interferes with the synthesis of essential cell wall components killing the bacteria.

How to use XT-MERO- 125 MG INJECTION ?

XT-MERO- 125 MG INJECTION will only be given by a doctor or nurse by injection into a vein. The dosage and length of time you will take the medicine will vary and will be determined by your doctor based on your infection, the amount of illness, and body weight and age.
