    Pantoprazole Sodium 40 mg Injection

Pantoprazole is a member of the Proton pump inhibitor class of drugs, which lowers the production of acid that your stomach secretes. It is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), stomach ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (excessive acid production due to a pancreatic tumour), duodenal ulcers, gastric ulcers, and Crohn's disease-related ulcers.

Pantoprazole reduces stomach acid by inhibiting the activity of an enzyme (H+/K+ ATPase, which is also referred to as the gastric proton pump), thereby inhibiting the discharge of stomach acid and treating symptoms of food pipe lining inflammation (esophagitis), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), or heartburn.

    Benefits:

    • Pantoprazole effectively cures erosive esophagitis (food pipe inflammation), heartburn, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, duodenal ulcers, gastric ulcers, and Crohn's disease-related ulcers.
    • Pantoprazole acts by inhibiting the proton pump gate irreversibly, which secretes stomach acid. It may be prescribed to all age groups, including special groups such as the geriatric population, pregnant women, lactating women, and patients with renal and hepatic disease.
    • Pantoprazole controls conditions related to acidity, aids digestion, and gives relief from the related discomfort.

    Uses:

    • Pantoprazole is commonly prescribed to cure GERD by reducing the level of stomach acid, thus reducing acid reflux and heartburn symptoms.
    • The drug effectively cures and alleviates symptoms of this condition, which is caused by inflammation and mucosal damage to the esophagus due to acid reflux.
    • Through the reduction of stomach acid, Pantoprazole can also be employed to cure peptic ulcers and facilitate healing of the injured locations.
