Cefuroxime Axetil and Potassium Clavulanate Tablets are sold under the brand name RETUM -CV 625. Cefuroxime Axetil and Potassium Clavulanate Tablets consist of two antibiotics: CEFUROXIME AXETIL 500 MG + POTASSIUM CLAVULANATE 125 MG. Cefuroxime prevents the growth of bacterial cell cover, which is essential for survival. Thus, they killed bacteria. Clavulanic acid acts by reducing bacterial resistance and enhancing the action of cefuroxime on bacteria. Cefuroxime Axetil and Potassium Clavulanate Tablets together cure bacterial infections.

It belongs to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics and inhibits bacterial cell growth to prevent the development of bacteria.

    Mechanism of Action: –
RETUM -CV 625 possesses a broad spectrum of activity against typical pathogenic bacteria. It possesses bactericidal activity through the inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis. Cefuroxime functions by binding to target proteins that are involved in the replication of bacteria.

Clavulanic acid is a naturally-derived β-lactamase inhibitor produced by Streptomyces clavuligerus. Clavulanic acid inhibits them by binding and inactivating them, thus preventing the cefuroxime from being broken down, which is a substrate for these enzymes.
