Permethrin cream is an antiparasitic drug. It treats scabies, which is when small insects infect and inflame your skin. The medicine kills the insects (mites) and their eggs. Topical permethrin is applied to adults and children 2 months old or older to treat lice (small insects that cling to the skin on the head). Permethrin belongs to a class of medications known as scabicides and pediculicides. It kills lice and mites.

How to apply permethrin cream: do the following:

    • Spread a thin layer of cream over all of your skin from your neck down to your toes (including the soles of your feet). Use care to apply cream in all skin folds, like between your toes and fingers or around your waist or buttocks.
    • For treatment of infants or adults aged 65 years and above, the cream must also be applied to the hairline or scalp, temples, and forehead.
    • You might have to use up the entire tube of cream to treat your body.
    • Keep the cream on your skin for 8-14 hours.
    • Wash off the cream after 8-14 hours have elapsed by bathing or showering.
    • Your skin can be itchy following treatment with permethrin cream. This does not imply that your treatment failed. If you notice live mites 14 days or more after the time you were treated, then you will have to retreat the treatment procedure.

    Advantages of Permethrin Cream

    In Scabies

Scabies is a disorder brought about by small insects known as mites that infest and irritate your skin. Permite 5 % Cream is an anti-parasite drug. It functions by killing and paralysing the mites and their eggs. On average, it should be used on the entire body, excluding the face and the head, but act according to your doctor's instructions. It needs to be completely washed off within 8-12 hours. In most cases, one use is sufficient in curing the condition, but in others, a repeat one may need to be needed after a week. This will eliminate the itching, swelling, and redness that result from mites. But dead mites can continue to cause itching for a while.
